Delta Inc. - Characteristics of An Industry â€Å"Delta Air Lines is one of the world s largest airline carriers in the world. Through its regional carriers, the company serves about 330 destinations in about 60 countries, and it operates a mainline fleet of 800-plus aircraft, as well as maintenance, repair, overhaul, and cargo operations† (Hoover’s Inc., 2017). When analyzing the airline industry, it is important to look at the dominant economic features of that industry. The air line industry is considerably large and has reached its’ maturity stage; it is not really growing or declining. Because of Delta Inc.’s capital-intensive nature and fixed costs, barriers to ent ry are low. According to the IATA (International Air Transport Association), about 1,300 new airlines were established in the last 40 years (Cederholm, 2014). Capital is not the only reason there are low entries into the industry: sophisticated knowledge and skill sets can be a challenge when trying to fill positions, and there are many federal and government regulations and laws that must be adhered to which can be a deterrent during initial start-up. Market Share. The passenger air transportation market is a thriving industry, taking individuals to locations around the globe. In 2015, Delta Air Lines was the largest airline in the world based on sales, reaching more than 40 billion U.S. dollars in sales revenue. In 2016 Delta Inc. had a big fall in earnings. Increased costs from a new pilot contract drove the bulk of the year-over-year decline, with a decrease in unit revenue doing the rest of the damage. Gender Codes In Advertising Have Hugely Impacted My Own

Gender codes in advertising have hugely impacted my own views and how I currently interact with friends, families, and even strangers that I see walking around on the streets. It is pointed out by Sut Jhally (2009) that the reason for this being, masculinity and femininity are strongly portrayed in advertisements as two completely opposite things. In most ads, men are shown as strong human beings with complete control of whatever problems may arise to them whereas women are shown the complete opposite. Their bodies are usually in positions that suggest that they’re being controlled by men and are completely dependant on them not being able to face troubles that may arise (Jhally, 2009). When walking around and interacting with new people, I automatically try to fit into these criteria that the advertisements have created to define masculinity because if I don’t then I feel like they judge me based on what ideologies they’ve been brought up with, which is mostly like the same advertisements that separates masculinity and femininity completely. I believe this has been encoded to us so thoroughly that if you don’t succumb to his categorization then you’re not as approachable compared to someone who is. Women are also sexualized in a majority of advertisements which consequentially alters the thoughts of men around us into having certain expectations for them. Crouching down to the ground the protestors and I gathered stones of the ground and regrettably threw them at the army, although it was regrettable we had no alternative, the army put us in a tough situation from which we could not get out of without putting up a fight. The army inevitably fought back using water cannon and rubber bullets to disperse of the crowd we had formed, however as they begun to fight back we refused to back down, we wanted our rights to be given to us, we wanted to be treated with respect and be addressed to by others with some common decency, is that so much to ask? What we did was not a crime we could have gone much further with the matter however we did not, we merely stood up for our own rights. We all began to scream and panic scattering away from one another as a trigger was pulled and a gun shot was heard going off. Within seconds thirteen of our allies are lying dead on the ground they had just minutes ago picked stones up from, others were wounded and the remainder in shock. The army when questioned claimed they only returned fire, however how could this be true when we approached the winter palace unarmed? It is undeniably clear that we could not have fired any shots, we did not fire any shots, and the only shots that were fired were those of the armed force. Mending Wall Poetry Analysis free essay sample

The neighbour keeps resorting back to the same simple argument and point of his father’s saying, â€Å"Good fences make good neighbours. † The speaker continues to remain unconvinced and presses the neighbour’s old-fashioned stubborn claims to be overlooked despite his reluctance to be swayed. The piece remarkably is quite simplistic in the way that the vocabulary of the poem contains no real fancy words, most are short and the majority can be used in conversion in everyday life. There are no stanza breaks, obvious ending rhymes or overall rhyme scheme observed either. The repetition of whole lines is surveyed twice throughout the poem however. â€Å"Something there is that doesn’t love a wall,† is the opening line of the piece and is repeated on line thirty-six. This is a reoccurring idea that this wall should not be up standing in the first place as it is unnecessary. Frost says that there is a natural force that tears down these walls as they are unnatural. The title Mending Wall could mean anything but fixing the fence between the two blocks of land but refer instead to the broken relationship that exists between two human beings.

Place 5 candy pieces of the same color into a small beaker. Pour enough acetic acid solution into each tube to just cover all of the candy pieces, around 5 ml. 2. Agitate the beaker carefully for about 30-45 seconds, or until the color comes off of the candy. Be careful to dissolve as little as possible of the white are (sugar) under the colored layer and do not dissolve any of the chocolate. Immediately decant the colored solution into a clean test tube, trying not to transfer any of the sediment. Repeat with the other colors for which you are responsible. 3. Now you need to extract the dye from the solution onto the strips of yarn. To do this, place one piece of yarn into each test tube of colored solution. Heat the tubes in a boiling water bath for 8-10 minutes. You can remove the tubes from the water when the solution is milky-white and the yarn is the color of the dye, in other words, when all of the dye has been extracted from the solution. . Remove the dyed yarn from the solution and rinse it with distilled water. If you wish you may cut -2 SMS off each piece of yarn as a souvenir. Let these dry on a piece of paper, and you may take them away with you to keep if youd like. . Now it is necessary to extract the dye from the yarn and get it back into solution. Into a large clean test tube, place a piece of colored yarn and no more than ml of MM ammonia. Make sure that the yarn is immersed and mix with a stirring rod, rinsing the stirring rod before placing it in each tube so as not to mix any of the colors. 6. Heat the tubes containing the yarn and ammonia in the water bath for 10 minutes or until the color o f the yarn has faded. Remove the yarn. 7. You now may need to concentrate each color. To get some feel for just how concentrated each color should be, take a small test tube and using a dropper add 5 drops of water to the test tube. This is the amount of each color that you require. 8. To concentrate your dyes, place the dye in a clean evaporating dish and very carefully heat it on a hotplate. Be careful here, if the dye goes dry then the heat from the burner will decompose the dye. Separating and identifying the dyes: . Once all of your samples have been concentrated, it is now possible to run TTL plates on the dyes and the standards. You should divide up the work, but all standards and your samples need to be run. 2. To prepare your plates, draw a thin line with a pencil about 1 CM from the bottom of the plate. With a toothpick or capillary tube, place a small dot of standard or sample along the line. After a few seconds, dot the same spot again to make it more concentrated. You can probably do two or three substances per plate. 3. The mobile phase solvent is a 4:4:1:2 mixture of Somali alcohol, ethanol, water, and ammonia. Place about 10 ml or so of this mixture in the bottom of a 1 50 ml beaker.

Other combatants and armed bands that flourished in this civil chaos simply reflected the breakdown of central authority rather than loyalty to a political faction. The height of hostilities occurred between 1992 and 1993. By 1997, the predominantly Kulyabi-led Tajik Government and the UTO had negotiated a power-sharing peace accord and implemented it by 2000. Once guaranteed 30% of government positions, former oppositionists have almost entirely been removed from government as President Rahmon has consolidated power. The last Russian border guards protecting Tajikistan's 1,344 km border w ith Afghanistan completed their withdrawal in July 2005. Russia maintains its military presence in Tajikistan with the basing of the Russian 201st Motorized Rifle Division that never left Tajikistan when it became independent. Most of these Russian-led forces, however, are local Tajik noncommissioned officers and soldiers. Tajikistan's most recent parliamentary elections in 2010 and its 2006 presidential election were considered to be flawed and unfair but peaceful. The parliamentary elections, in which the ruling party secured 55 of the 63 seats, failed to meet many key Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) standards on democratic elections, and some observers saw them as even worse than the flawed 2005 elections. Technology today is growing at an alarming rate. Things that seemed impossible only a few years ago are now a reality, and some far fetched things such as time travel, that are present in today's science fiction movies, might possibly become reality soon as well. One prevalent idea that seemed impossible a few years ago but that is now a reality is the idea of human cloning. The fantasy that some people had about having clones of themselves or of animals a few years ago is not a fantasy anymore; it is a reality. With the recent cloning of a sheep named Dolly by scientists in Scotland, the powers of cloning are becoming more prevalent. As daunting as this may seem, the human race must now face all the issues related to human cloning, and the one question that comes up amidst all of the relative confusion about the issue is this: Is human cloning a medical miracle or an ethical nightmare? As confusing and complicated as cloning may seem, it is actually a very simple idea to grasp. Garvey says, "In essence, cloning is the artificial fashioning of an identical twin, one that will be younger that its sibling" (7). Taken at surface level, the general principle of cloning is quite simple; an individual gene from a subject is isolated and transplanted in a medium, such as bacteria or yeast, and that isolated gene reproduces and multiplies, creating a clone of the original gene. The media seemed to have lumped cloning into one generalized idea, but in actuality, there are three distinct types of cloning. These three distinct types of cloning are gene cloning, cellular cloning, and whole-organism cloning. Because the media has done a poor job of distinguishing among the three different types of cloning, confusion has arisen a... ...ical code? In many cases the answer is going to be no. Such is the case with cloning. Its promises are extremely appealing, but the price that the cloned people or organs would have to pay is too great. Even though the technology may be present to actually clone things, humans must learn when to put a cap on such things. So the question remains: Is human cloning a medical miracle or an ethical nightmare? It seems obvious that the answer to that question is an ethical nightmare. There is too much at stake in this matter, as far as human life goes, to risk it all on a bunch of promises. The ethical objections far outweigh the supposed gains of this practice, and thus should not become a common practice in today's society. Humans must understand that even though something can be done, does not make that thing right, and such is the case with human cloning.

I even commend those that go to work and do school all at the same time. That works very well for some people, but not quite for me especially online. I have to find what works for me. Career Goals I am in the mist of changing careers from the military to hopefully finding a job doing Transportation Logistics as a civilian. I believe it would be more beneficial to me to get certified rather than going a degree in this field. For instance, if had a bachelors degree in my career field would over qualify me most of the job offers they have posted. I will continue to pursue my associates degree, but most likely in a classroom setting than online.My goal from there on out is to buy my time spent in the military, so that I can retire. In order to achieve this must get a federal equivalent job. I am looking to go anywhere to make this a dream a reality. Will travel to Europe, Asia, and even cross the border into Canada. I am just looking to one have a family, and a wife I can call my very o wn. Over all, I want to live by the Twelve Principles of Islam which are: knowledge, wisdom, understanding freedom, justice, equality. We will continue with: food clothing shelter, love, peace and peppiness. I have simple reasonable goals, nothing big.Time Management Techniques My success in college solely depends on me. Know that I can procrastinate a lot, but it's not totally my fault. For me balancing work and school is very difficult. I rather do one or the other. Now with that being said, I have decided to put school on hold until I get of the army. It's not like can't manage my time. It's just that at the end of the day what time do have left to manage. Get up at 4:30 am, and return home at ten o'clock at night. This is the reason why I have late assignments, and I had to pay for extra time on his class.Us Mary In summary I have discussed my career goals, and time management problems.
